Another important alliance has been formed within the framework of the LIFE MILCH project: following the agreement signed last autumn with the Italian Society of Neonatology, a new agreement has now been reached with the Italian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (SIEDP).
The SIEDP’s primary objective is to promote the continuing education of Italian pediatric endocrinologists and diabetologists and to contribute to the constant improvement of the quality of care—and, consequently, the health—of children and adolescents. Pediatric endocrinologists and diabetologists play a crucial role in the care of children with congenital, acquired, chronic, rare, and complex endocrine disorders, as well as those with obesity and diabetes. The chronic and complex nature of most of these conditions presents new and often challenging issues. These include the effects that environmental contaminants can have on the endocrine system and on a child's health, starting from the neonatal period.
In light of this, and recognizing the scientific value of the LIFE MILCH findings, the SIEDP—through a formal agreement signed by its President, Prof. Malgorzata Wasniewska—has committed to disseminating the project's results and, specifically, the educational materials produced by LIFE MILCH, utilizing the Society's official channels.
